
Anita’s priorities include education, healthcare, jobs, small businesses, rural infrastructure, and protection of natural resources. She is committed to reducing carbon emissions across the state and accelerating investments in New Mexico’s renewable energy potential. She understands the importance of wildfire risk mitigation, and she will advocate for land restoration, resilient infrastructure, and safe drinking water
Anita Gonzales is a multi-generational Northern New Mexican with a deep love and connection to her community. She received her BA and MA from New Mexico Highlands University, and she has since spent her career working to uplift students from minority backgrounds in fields where they are traditionally underrepresented. As Deputy Director for New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (NM MESA), Inc, Anita worked to improve the lives of children from rural communities in New Mexico.
