
Lindsey’s priorities include education, voting rights, affordable healthcare, clean environment, and equality. She has consistently voted to protect the environment, and she is a fervent advocate for funding resilient infrastructure, improving stormwater management, and incentivizing clean energy. She is committed to securing state budget appropriations for clean energy and climate, and to fully staffing the state’s Department of Environmental Quality. We know Lindsey will continue to be a climate champion in North Carolina in her next term.
An educator, community leader, and public servant, Lindsey Prather is the definition of a climate champion in the North Carolina legislature. After receiving her bachelor’s at UNC Asheville and her MPA at Western Carolina University, Lindsey went on to work as a special education and social studies teacher at Buncombe County Schools. During the 2023 legislative session, she was the primary sponsor of five climate-related bills focused on clean energy, agriculture, and conservation.
