Extreme weather and record-breaking heat have placed the nation and families in unprecedented times, and it’s clear climate change is the existential crisis of our lifetimes.
About 75% of the country’s climate goals will be met at the state and local level. But, it’ll take bold action against the climate crisis to meet these standards. This is why Climate Cabinet Action released its newest National Scorecard that’s aimed to hold state legislators accountable for their votes on important climate legislation.
We take into account how over 4,200 state legislators in 27 U.S. states voted on over 475 critical climate and environmental justice bills.
This Scorecard can equip lawmakers, voters, and journalists with the facts and trends needed to assess how state governments are approaching the fight against climate change - or lack thereof.
The Climate Cabinet National Scorecard is an aggregate of publicly-available on-the-ground analysis by partners in the environmental movement, filtered down to only include climate, clean energy, environmental justice, and democracy votes.
